Due to concerns with Equine Herpes Myeloencephalopathy (EHM) caused by EHV-1 with horses, CGA D8 has reviewed the current information provided by the California Department of Food and Agriculture, augmented by the School of Veterinary Medicine, University of California, Davis, the following safety guidelines will be in effect for the equine contestants good horse husbandry during the gymkhana:

Please bring your own water and water bucket or hose to fill from our spigot.

Do not share feed, water, or give treats to other unknown horses.

Do not leave your horse unattended, tied to fence rail with other peoples horses or to an unknown horse

Upon completion of the course please return your horse to the trailer and not stand in large groups.

We will have a check in process in place so please be patient, we will not start the show until everyone is checked in and has had a chance to sign up so relax. 

This information is being gathered to insure everyone's safety and heaven forbid if the need arises to track the horses we'll have all the information at our disposal. This information will be held with the utmost privacy and will not be available unless the need arises.

Please do not bring any under the weather horses to the show, if they have nasal discharge they will not be allowed to stay on the grounds, unless you have a note from the vet for the cause of the nasal discharge ie.... allergies.
